On September 9, 2009, Katerina Churina fulfilled a lifelong dream by founding the TABOORET design studio. This was the beginning of our journey, now measured not by years but by projects and experience, each one a part of our story.

Invited by SALON magazine, we participated in the “Vitrines. Design Changes the World!” exhibition at the MIELE gallery. Our display—an installation combining aesthetic and functional design—marked a turning point in defining our studio’s distinct style and capturing the attention of a wider audience.

Our first recognition came with a project for a four-room apartment that won in the "Best Contemporary Interior" category. This accolade proved we were on the right path, setting a solid foundation for future achievements.

At KIFF, our children's furniture collection won the Sense competition, gaining an opportunity to be produced in collaboration with a major furniture manufacturer—a beginning that propelled us into design and production on a larger scale.

In 2015, our first international project in Amsterdam marked our entry into the global market, leading to projects in the Netherlands, Finland, and Germany. These initial steps became our pathway to the grand international stage.

Our debut at Bologna Design Week was a milestone in our growth, where we introduced an original smart kitchen concept, a statement of our passion for bold ideas and creative exploration. By this point, our studio was not only creating interiors but also designing custom furniture, affirming our presence on Italy’s design stage.

Our first American accolade came from the International Design Awards for an office project. The 214-square-meter office was designed and completed in record time—just 54 days—opening the door to even more ambitious commercial projects.

2021 marked the pinnacle of our creative journey. Our dream office came to life, serving as both a workspace and a sanctuary of design. Here, we launched our Kitchen Atelier, showcasing our decade-long expertise in custom furniture creation. Each piece displayed in our showroom is a work of art, embodying a commitment to exceptional quality.

2022 brought profound changes as the war forced us to leave Kyiv and rebuild in Spain, closing an entire chapter of our history. This challenging period opened the way for reflection, restoration, and reaffirmation of what remains truly significant in even the most difficult times.

One year after relocating, our design studio emerged stronger than ever with a new identity: Churina Design. This rebranding was more than a fresh name; it symbolized our resilience and the continuity of our pursuit of excellence. The reimagining of TABOORET Development stands as a testament to our adaptability and vision.

2023 became a year of unparalleled recognition. Competing among the best at the most prestigious international design awards, we won over 10 awards. In one of the competitions, we surpassed even Zaha Hadid’s renowned studio in accolades—a success that reinforces our standing in the elite design world, where innovation and impeccable taste reign supreme.

Following acclaim across Europe and North America, we turned our focus to the East, where our work was celebrated at the Asia Design Awards. Reaching the finals was more than a milestone; it marked our arrival as a globally recognized design studio, capturing the attention and admiration of discerning connoisseurs worldwide.

In late 2024, our studio found its new home in the heart of Santander’s enchanting landscape. Here, amidst lush forests, the endless ocean, and majestic mountains, we are immersed in the creation of masterpieces worthy of the world’s most prestigious design awards.
